Photo description: A photo taken at the top of Mt John, one of New Zealand's top observatories. A number of people take part in astronomy research at the observatory run by the University of Canterbury. Found next to the lake in Tekapo, the surroundings are perfect for star gazing with very little light pollution from the nearby town. A giant dome can be seen to the left of the image, one of many telescopes designed to do a variety of research on space, the solar system, nearby stars and more.
